It has been so long since I read anything by Poe, I have no idea if I'd like his poetry now or not. I used to read his works way back before horses were invented, when I was a youngster. I'd read his stories, and the poetry that was included with them. Other than that, just poke me with a stick and see if I'm done.

Anyway---I haven't read any poetry by any well-known poets for years. It's just not something I do. I think the last I read was some works by Tennyson. I enjoyed them at the time---but I can take them or leave them.

As for me---I just write what I write---if people like it fine, and if they don’t fine. I prefer using rhyme. I like the challenge it can present.

As for poetry and meter----I’ve studied the who-how of it. In my opinion though, meter should come naturally in a poem---like a song---- Do da do da----why the hell would a person need to think on terms like a mathematician to write a poem? Good Grief!!!! And the people that think you need to---need to get real…A poem is a written expression ---- why make it into a math problem?

Well I better hush---or I’ll have someone explain the facts of life to me…lalalala
