Basic Guideline to Posting
« on: September 17, 2007, 07:46:55 AM »

Registering with a temporary, (throwaway) email address from a free email provider, such as Google’s Gmail, or Microsoft’s HotMail, can help assure your online privacy.

To post a topic in this forum you need to register with a valid email address. (The forum automatically sends verification that you’ve joined, and sends a copy of your username and password.)  The registering process only takes a few moments, and you are not required to give any personal, or identifying information about yourself. As soon as your application is complete you’ll be able to post on this forum.

The basics to posting are: Select the area that you want to post your poem or story in. (example: Rhyming Poetry) Then select New Topic. Now add the title of your work in the Subject field. Afterwards, type or paste your story or poem in the large screen area.

When completed, click on Additional Options. Make your choices, if any

Now click Preview. If you’re satisfied with how it looks, click Post.

See how easy that was?

As for adding smileys, and using the text format options, it’s best to just experiment after reading the online HELP file <above>.

Please don’t be afraid to post---I’ve left the option open for you to be able to correct or delete anything you’ve posted on this forum. The Edit buttons are self-explanatory. Use them at will. I’ve also added a Test Forum so you can practice posting and editing. Use it---that’s what it’s there for…

Now: To comment or reply to another person’s story or poem: after reading their post, just click the Reply button, and follow the posting procedures above, the only exception being, you won’t have to fill in the Subject field. It will be filled in for you.

I hope this quick reference has been helpful to all that have never posted on a forum before… …Go ahead and post---you can’t break it…
